In the New Year, Friend Inc. is greatly in need of non-perishable items since the allotment from the Greater Berks Food Bank is not sufficient to meet the needs of local hungry families. For the next month, please donate canned goods and other nonperishables. Currently, Friend needs more cereal, noodles, jelly, canned fruit (other than applesauce), fruit juice, vegetables and any other items you would like to donate. When you go grocery shopping, please pick up a few extra items, label your donation bags for Friend and drop them in the box outside the sanctuary. See Kathy Landis for questions.

We are taking donations for the Hope Rescue Mission of Reading. In the winter months, they house 100+ homeless men and need new bath-size towels, new pillows and blankets. Also, the residents need toiletries such as shaving cream, disposable razors, deodorant, shampoo and soap. (Hope Rescue is a Christian-based organization offering shelter, food, counseling, religious services, and employment networking.) Please bring your donations to church and place in the box outside the sanctuary between October 22 and November 5. Help our neighbors in need! Contact Kathy Landis or Cindy Swan for more information.
