Becoming a member of St. Paul’s UCC Kutztown
…and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:24-25 NASB
Becoming a member of a church is a big, but important step in your spiritual journey. In the book of Hebrews, the Holy Spirit encourages us to join together in worship and service. This is not only important to make progress in your spiritual journey, but also enriches others as each member of the church body plays a role in supporting and complementing the efforts of the church in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ!
There are two paths to becoming a member at St. Paul’s:
Children and Youth
Joining the Sunday School program is a great way for children and youth to learn more about the church as well as to participate in giving and mission projects. Classes are held each Sunday for children as young as 2 years old through grade 7. When a child has reached grade 7 – 8, he or she is eligible to join the confirmation class that provides them with a series of educational and spiritual development classes culminating in a membership event that welcomes them into the church. Contact Louise Moyer for more information.
Adults
If you’re 18 or over, you can join St. Paul’s by contacting the church office to learn more about St. Paul’s and decide if joining our church is right for you. If you’re interested, we ask that you participate in a new member’s service which provides you with an opportunity to express your desire to join the church formally and also allows the members of the church to commit to helping you on your spiritual journey.
